Bushkill Falls is owned by the Charles E. Peters Estate and is leased and operated by ARAMARK.

Bushkill Falls is about 1200 feet above sea level. The drop of the Main Falls is approximately 100 feet. Overall, from the top of the Main Falls to the bottom of the Lower Gorge, the drop is about 300 feet.

Bushkill Falls, encompasses about 300 acres, including eight waterfalls and more that two miles of hiking trails, bridges and walkways.

No, there are two streams. Little Bushkill Creek originates in the highlands of the Pocono Mountains in Pike County. It flows through all the Bushkill Falls waterfalls, except three. It then empties into the Big Bushkill Creek, in the village of Bushkill, and flows into the Delaware River. Pond Run, the other stream at Bushkill Falls, rises in the lakes owned by Mountain Laurel Center, tumbles down the two Bridesmaid's Falls and Bridal Veil Falls, and joins Little Bushkill Creek just beyond the Lower Gorge.

Hemlock and pine trees, both evergreens, dominate the scenery, but other varieties of the deciduous (leaf shedding) trees often found here include oak, maple, beech, and birch.

Both the foam and the brown color are natural effects. Tannin and its derivative, tannic acid, cause the brown color. These compounds are a natural product of oak, hemlock, white pine and other trees. They are dissolved into the stream as the water flows over the roots and fallen timber along its downward journey. The waterfalls, rocks and ledges, and narrow ravines in the stream's path cause great turbulence. Although people frequently think the foam indicates pollution, that is not the case.

The rocks that form the bed are a form of shale.

Bushkill Falls is open 7 days a week (weather permitting in the spring and late fall) from April through October and sometimes in November. The gates open at 9:00 am and during daylight savings time tickets can be purchased up until 6:00 pm, with the grounds closing by 7:00 pm. Otherwise tickets are sold up until 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm depending on the season. Check with management for clarification.

General admission is $12.50 per adult, $11.50 per seniors 62+, and children ages 4-10 are $7.00. Children under 4 are free. Tickets are only valid on the day of purchase.

The Charles E. Peters Estate privately owns Bushkill Falls which is neither a State or Federal park. All improvements, repairs maintenance are privately funded and not from tax dollars.

Tickets are purchased at the entrance building, which also houses the Wildlife Exhibit. The trails begin at the rear of the building. When the entrance building closes between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm, tickets can be purchased at the Main Stand.

None of the animals in our display were intentionally killed for our exhibit. The specimens were acquired through local and state game officials and a majority of them were road kills that were salvageable.

While we do allow backpacks on the trail we discourage any kind of picnicking once inside. During peak season water is available for purchase at the Water Hut which is near Peters Corner, #19 on the trail map. A variety of snacks are available in our souvenir shop and snack bar located in the main building.

Disposable cameras and film are available for purchase in both the entrance building and the Main Stand.

The restrooms are located in the corner of the parking lot between the Outfitters and The Story of Bushkill Falls.

There is sporadic cell service throughout the property. Service is sometimes available near the front gate.

The closest public phone is down the street at the convenience store.

First-aid is available at the office located at the rear of the Main Stand.

Take a right out of our driveway, then right at the blinking light (Route 209 south). At Fernwood Resort's traffic light turn left onto River Road. Stay on River Road through Shawnee, on to Route 80.
